Michelle D’Antonio
Head of School
Ms. D’Antonio is a graduate of West Liberty State College with an undergraduate degree in elementary education with a minor in math education. She received her masters in educational psychology from the University of Oklahoma and her principal certification from California University of Pennsylvania. She has also received her administrator credentials from the American Montessori Society. She taught autistic students in New Jersey for a year and then taught elementary school for 4 years for the Department of Defense Schools in Panama. After moving to Maryland, she taught public school for 2 years. She next became a Psychology Professor for Central Texas College and has taught education courses for Shippensburg University. Ms. D’Antonio joined Montessori Academy of Chambersburg in August 2000 where she started the middle school program. She
has been responsible for the creation of the Academy’s curriculum as well as spear-heading the Middle States Accreditation process.
Ms. D'Antonio resides locally with her 3 boys, Tyler, Zachary and Nicholas.
Tracy Bryan
Office Manager
Mrs. Bryan is a 1998 graduate of Hagerstown Junior College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. Mrs. Bryan was employed 14 years as a paralegal prior to joining the Montessori Academy of Chambersburg in July 2011. She resides in Hagerstown, Maryland with her husband, Ryan, and daughter, Taylor. Her hobbies include reading and spending time with her family and cats and dogs.
Jan Aughinbaugh
Office Assistant
You may already know her if you go to Ragged Edge Swim Club. Jan is the manager. She has also worked for many years until 2006 at the YMCA teaching swimming lessons, etc. Married with two grown children and one new grandson, Jan enjoys reading, knitting, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and her cocker spaniels, Rooney and Rocky B.
Kim Frohm
School Nurse
Mrs. Frohm is a Licensed Practical Nurse with the Chambersburg Area School District. She graduated from the Nursing Program at the
Franklin County Career & Technology Center in February of 1998, with an Outstanding Honor Acheivement award in Clinical Practice. She's held various positions before coming to work for the school
district. Mrs. Frohm enjoys spending time with her family, scrapbooking, and camping. She lives in Shippensburg with her husband, Tony, and has two sons and four grandchildren.
Denise McLucas
Toddler
Ms. McLucas became interested in Montessori when her son started out as one of the first five students of the Montessori School. By the time her youngest child entered the Toddler program, she was the Assistant in Children’s House B, where she worked for three years. After that, she took her Infant and Toddler training in Princeton, NJ. She has been the Toddler Directress for over 15 years.
Ms. McLucas lives in Chambersburg with her husband, Dennis. They have three children who are all Montessori graduates; Andy, Carley and Emma. When she’s not at school she enjoys knitting, reading, scrapbooking, church and family activities.
Jenny Porter
Toddler
Ms. Porter has worked in the Toddler program for over 12 years. She loves children, especially watching them learn and discover. She’s had many years of experience working with children in child care centers, at church and at home. She continues to update her skills with training every year.
Ms. Porter lives in Chambersburg with her husband, John. They have two daughters,
Elizabeth and Anna, and one granddaughter. Her hobbies include sewing, gardening and anything that involves her family.

Christine Stottle
Children's House A
Ms. Stottle is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Shippensburg University with a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. She took her training at the Insitute for Advanced Montessori Studies at the Barrie School in Silver Springs, MD. Ms. Stottle has a passion for watching children learn and discover new things. She was an Emergency Medical Technician before deciding the best gift she could give was sharing the love of learning with young children. She lives in Port Royal with her husband, Greg, and her two children, Katie and Matthew, who also attend the school.
Cathy Davidson
Children's House B
Mrs. Davidson joined the Montessori family of Chambersburg in 2002. Before she came to the Academy, she worked in childcare for seventeen years in Pennsylvania and South Carolina. She attended school in West Virginia. Currently she resides in the town of Shippensburg with her husband, Tim, and two sons, Russ and Ethan. She has a house rabbit and a very large puppy. Her family is very active in area sports.
Arcadia Barnett
Children's House B
Miss Barnett is a 2011 graduate of Shippensburg University, where she majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She holds dual state teaching certificates in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. She has years of experience from teaching at church and tutoring. Miss Barnett lives in Chambersburg with her family. In her free time, Miss Barnett enjoys photography, cooking, hiking, and is a licensed scuba diver.
Diane Jones
Children's House C
Mrs. Jones was born and raised in Schuylkill County, PA and graduated from Moravian
College in Bethlehem with degrees in Psychology and Business. She has 12 years working in both Toddler and Children’s House Montessori classrooms. Ms. Jones enjoys preparing the environment and work for the students. She especially likes the art and practical life areas.
Mrs. Jones and her husband, Bob, have lived in Chambersburg since May, 1989. They have 3 daughters who all attended The Montessori school.
Kimberly Kulla
Children's House C
Ms. Kulla has many years experience teaching at the Children’s House level. She
completed her Montessori Training at Montgomery Montessori Institute in Rockville, MD.
Kim hopes that her classroom is a prepared environment that will allow each child to enhance their
natural love of learning.
Ms. Kulla lives in Waynesboro with her husband, two of her four children, and five dogs.
She has one granddaughter and one grandson.
Ms. Stephanie Miller
Children's House D
Ms. Miller graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in Elementary
Education and Early Childhood. She taught at the preschool level for 3 years in Martinsburg, WV,
before joining Montessori Academy.
Ms. Miller lives in Shippensburg with her husband, Zachary, and her 2 children, Ryan and Madison.
Ms. Berta Scroggs
Children's House D
Ms. Scroggs is a native of Mexico, where she met her husband, Sandy. Ms. Scroggs has been associated with Montessori for many years, and also teaches Spanish to the Children’s Houses
and Toddler community.
Mrs. Scroggs has two daughters, Andrea and Julia, and lives in Chambersburg.
Abby Johnson
Lower Elementary
Mrs. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Maryland with an undergraduate degree in
Kinesiology. After graduating, Mrs. Johnson worked in several schools in the Baltimore and Washington,
DC area before returning to Hagerstown, MD. She received her Montessori Certification from the Institute for
Advanced Montessori Training at the Barrie School in 2005. Mrs. Johnson joined Montessori Academy in
August 2004.
Mrs. Johnson lives in Virginia and has varied interests including extensive ballet instruction.
Alison Pryor
Lower Elementary
Ms. Pryor is a graduate of Kutztown University with an undergraduate degree in Elementary
Education. She taught at Magic Years Kindergarten and Pre-School before moving to South Carolina to
teach in the Columbia School District. She joined Montessori Academy of Chambersburg in May 2006.
Ms. Pryor moved from South Carolina to return to her home town of Chambersburg.
Bonnie Angle
Lower Elementary
Mrs. Angle is a graduate of Elizabethtown College with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. She completed post-graduate work at Shippensburg College and received her Montessori Certification
from CMTE/New York. Her teaching experience includes Tuscarora School District, grades K, 4, and 5, and Franklin County Head Start program as the head teacher at Mercersburg Head Start. She has also served as a private tutor at Mercersburg Academy. Mrs. Angle joined Montessori Academy of Chambersburg in August 2003. She resides in Mercersburg with her husband, Gary, and has three sons, Andrew, Gregory and Mitchell, three daughters-in-law, Kathy, Mary and Sharyn. Greg and Mary are the parents of her grandchildren, Gary (6) and Grace (3).
Karen Thrush
Lower Elementary
Mrs. Thrush has completed educational course instruction at Wilson College and Shippensburg University. She did her 6-9 Montessori training at The New School of Teacher Education in North Carolina. She previously owned a day care/preschool business. Ms. Thrush joined The Montessori Academy in August 1996. Mrs. Thrush resides in Greencastle with her husband, Jerry, and daughter, Nikkia. She has three grown married sons and daughter-in-laws, and one two year old granddaughter.
Trina Snoke
Upper Elementary
Ms. Snoke is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Shippensburg University with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. She holds dual state teaching certificates in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. Ms. Snoke has also attended many workshops including Project
Learning Tree, Project WILD and the National Montessori Conference. She joined Montessori Academy in January 2001. Ms. Snoke resides in Chambersburg with her husband, George. They have two daughters and one son.
Stephanie Cebula
Upper Elementary
Mrs. Cebula graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, MD. She provided
daycare in her home for 10 years. She helped design a cooperative pre-school with her church
and participated in it for 6 years. She has spent many hours as a volunteer in her children’s
classrooms. She resides in Fayetteville with her husband, her sons, Sean and Nicholas,
and her daughters, Sofia and Julia. Mrs. Cebula joined Montessori Academy of Chambersburg in August 2006.
Camille Smith
Upper Elementary
Ms. Smith began working as a volunteer with the Academy students, making class quilts for
the 2002 Silent Auction – Montessori Academy’s largest fundraising event. She became the art teacher
in 2004. Ms. Smith received her undergraduate degree in English from West Virginia Wesleyan College,
a Master of Arts in Education and Training from the University of Maryland--Baltimore County, and a
Master of Science in Counseling from Shippensburg University. A textile artist and quiltmaker,
Ms. Smith has a strong background in design and color theory, as well as art history.
She lives in Waynesboro with her partner Robin and their son, Sam.
Samantha Walker
Upper Elementary
Mrs. Walker was born and raised in Romney, West Virginia. She graduated from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography. In 2009, she received her Masters in Teaching from Frostburg University. As a fifth generation teacher, Mrs. Walker feels a compulsion to not only teach, but to learn from her students as well. She spends her time making jewelry and runs a successful jewelry business in her spare time. Mrs. Walker lives in Hagerstown, Maryland with her husband and chinchilla.
Elizabeth Cleary
Middle School
Ms. Cleary is a graduate from Shippensburg University, with an undergraduate degree in
Elementary Education. Ms. Cleary is a member of National Council for History Education and Kappa
Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education. Since graduating college, she has taught a
variety of grade levels in various local school districts. She joined Montessori Academy in November 2006.
Emily Gilmore
Middle School
Emily Gilmore is a graduate of the College of Charleston and Georgetown University. She obtained her teaching certificate from Shippensburg University. She has worked at the Smithsonian Institution's Botany Department at the Museum of Natural History. She also served as an AmeriCorps volunteer at Wilson College as program coordinator for the Robyn Van En Center and worked part-time on their college farm.
Evelyn Feagin
Librarian
Mrs. Feagin graduated from Simmons College with a Masters of Library Science. She first joined the Montessori Academy family as a parent and became the Librarian in Fall 2010, after several years of intense volunteering. For the last decade, home has been Hagerstown, Maryland, where Mrs. Feagin lives with her husband, James, and three children, Emma, Sylvia and Charlie.
Erin Gillespie
Art Instructor
Miss Gillespie is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a degree in Art Education. She has taught art for several years through the SHAPE Gallery in Shippensburg as well as the TWEP program in Mercersburg. She is also very involved with the Chambersburg Council for the Arts and participates in many events sponsored by them throughout the year. Miss Gillespie joined Montessori Academy in August 2011.
Diana Reinert
Music Instructor
Mrs. Reinert was raised in Southern Africa, but came to the United States to complete a double major at Olivet Nazarene University in Church Music and Elementary Education. She and her husband, John, moved to Chambersburg in 1990. She taught fourth grade at Cumberland Valley Christian School for three years, was a homeschooling parent and has been an adjunct professor of music theory at Wilson College. She currently teaches private piano for Cumberland Valley School of Music at both Wilson College and Mercersburg Academy campuses. She has been a faculty member at CVSM for 14 years, where she also participates in the string orchestra as a violinist, and has taught First Kids' Chorus. In addition, she has served as worship leader, pianist, keyboardist, choir accompanist and instrumental arranger for special programs at her church. Mrs. Reinert first became acquainted with Montessori in 2000 when her two children attended Children's House. She has a passion for passing on the joy of music to the next generation.
Sheryl Wert
Spanish Teacher
Sheryl Wert is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a degree in Spanish and K-12 certificaton. She has taught various grade levels for several years. She has also served as a bilingual intern and private tutor. Ms. Wert presented at several conferences and is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, ACTFL, NCTFL and PMLA. She is also involved in the behavioral health field working with students with disabilities within the school.
